BROADWAY COUNTRY CLUBS 1st ANNUAL COCKTAIL PARTY

THE BROADWAY COUNTRY CLUB HAD ITS OPENING NIGHT AFFAIR ON FEBRUARY 7TH AT 3 P.M. ANYONE WHO WAS ANYONE WAS THERE. CHUCK AND CLAIR FROM THE 620 APPEARED, DAZZLING WITH SMILES AND PERSONALITY. VINCE AND MARY FROM THE EXCEDRA CLUB WALTZED IN AND AS USUAL, ALWAYS BUBBLY WITH HELLO'S AND NICE TO SEE YOU TYPE CHIT-CHAT. JUST THE APPEARANCE OF THESE TWO COUPLES WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE PARTY.

THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY FORTY PEOPLE SAUNTERING ABOUT. DUANE OF COURSE, WAS THE BARTENDER AND LET ME TELL YOU, WHEN HE POURS, HE POURS. NOT ONLY WAS THERE AN ABUNDANCE OF HIGH CALIBER DRINKS BUT A DELICIOUS PUNCH THAT WAS SO POTENT IT MADE ONES HAIR STAND ON END.

THE PARTY WAS HELD ON THE SECOND LEVEL OF DAVIDS HOUSE. IT WAS DECORATED IN EARLY SHEETS OF MUSLIN AND HAND PAINTED WITH THE FINEST AND PUREST OF DUST. VINTAGE 1945. A DECORATORS DREAM OF CASUAL OPULENCE. I MUST ADD THAT IT WAS NICE OF THE OWNERS TO REMOVE THE HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS THAT WAS USED SIX YEARS AGO FOR A SIMILAR PARTY.

PLEASE LOOK FORWARD TO THE BRAODWAY COUNTRY CLUBS NEXT AFFAIR. IT WILL BE SOMETIME IN JULY. IF YOUR LUCKY YOU MIGHT GET INVITED, IF YOUR NOT YOU WILL READ ALL ABOUT IT IN Z-TRASH.

THE LAMDA BAR, 1052 BROADWAY, LORAIN, OHIO. ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 7th PRESENTED, "THE UNDER-GROUND FOLLIES." STARRING, MARCELLA WILSON, CATHY CRAIG AND DEL DIVINE.

THE LAMDA BAR IS SMALL AND WAS NOT CROWDED FOR THIS SHOW BUT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DUE TO THE WEATHER. MARCELLA WILSON, WITH THE DUBIOUS TITLE OF, "MISS GAY CLEVELAND" WAS THE STAR OF THIS SHOW. HER TALENT SHE STANDS ON, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL LEGS I'VE SEEN ON A DRAG. HER TALENT, THIS PARTICULAR NIGHT DID NOT MATCH THEM. MARCELLA A SEASONED AND TALENTED PERFORMER WAS NOT UP TO HER USUAL PAR---LETS TRY AGAIN.

CATHY CRAIG WHO RECENTLY RETURNED FROM CALIFORNIA IS A REAL TREAT, SHE EXCELS AT COMEDY AND EVEN HER SERIOUS NUMBERS HAVE A FLAIR. TALENT ABOUNDS FROM THIS YOUNG MAN. IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN HIM PERFORM MAKE SURE YOU DO, YOU WON'T BE SORRY. WE COULD ONLY WISH THAT CATHY WOULD TRY FOR A BETTER WARDROBE, HER COSTUMES FOR SERIOUS NUMBERS WERE NOT OF THE CALIBER THEY SHOULD BE. THERE WAS THE EFFECT OF WRAPPED DRAPES HELD WITH SAFTY PINS ABOUT HER. START SEWING CATHY.

THIS WAS DELLA DIVINES (RANDY OF EXCEDRA) FIRST SHOW. HIS NERVOUSNESS AND INEXPERIENCE WERE BOTH APPARENT, WHICH WE UNDERSTAND. WHAT HE LACKED IN POLISH, HE MADE UP FOR WITH ENTHUSIASM. MORE EXPERIENCE AND A DIFFERENT IMAGE OCCASIONALLY WOULD HELP DELLA. TIS' ALWAYS GOOD TO SEE NEW TALENT AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING DELLA AGAIN.

The

"SWINGERS"

"MAKING LOVE" (DOESN'T MAKE IT)

"MAKING LOVE", HAS A GAY THEME, A REAL FAIRY STORY. THIS FILM IS PURE HOLLYWOOD. STARRING KATF JACKSON AS A BEAUTIFUL, YOUNG TALENTED T.V. EXECUTIVE, MARRIED TO A HANDSOME, YOUNG, TALENTED DOCTOR

THEY HAVE JUST PURCHASED A VEI.Y EXPENSIVE HOME AND THERE VERY HAPPY. HE DECIDES TO TURN GAY OR LEAST EXPERIENCE WHAT HE HAS RECENTLY DISCOVERED WITHIN HIMSELF. OF COURSE THIS HAPPENS WITH A HANDSOME, YOUNG TALENTED WRITER-WELL EVERYBODY CAN BE PERFECT, CAN'T THEY? ITS ALL TOO CHIC AND UPPERCRUST TO BE BELIEVED-TOO SOAP OPERA.

THE FILM DOES HAVE ITS HIGH POINTS BUT NOT MANY. THE LOVE SCENES BETWEEN THE TWO MEN ARE HANDLED VERY WELL AND WITH GREAT SENSITIVITY. BUT EVERY TIME ONE STARTS TO GET INVOLVED IN THIS FILM THE SCREEN GOES WHITE AND ONE OF THE STARS HAS A CLOSE-UP WHICH HE OR SHE TELLS THE AUDIENCE WHATS HAPPENED OR WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN. THESE LITTLE CONVERSATIONS WITH THE AUDIENCE ARE SILLY TO SAY THE LEAST.

"MAKING LOVE" IS NOT A BAD FILM, ITS JUST NOT A VERY GOOD ONE. THERE IS NOTHING CONTROVERSIAL OR SEEDY ABOUT THIS FILM. NO DRAGS, NO LEATHER, NO FATS, NO FEMS BUT NOT VERY INTERESTING EITHER. SEE IT AT HALF PRICE IF YOU MUST, OR IF YOUR JUST BORED SOME EVENING, OTHERWISE, DON'T BOTHER.
